Polska Ameryka
Partia Socjalistyczna
[PAPS] Chicago Chapter
The Deal
PAPS isn’t really a political party in the way your uncle understands it. We don't have a headquarters, we don't have a PAC, and we definitely don’t have a coherent five-year plan. We’re just a loose collection of people living between Belmont and North Avenue who realized that the city isn’t coming to save us, and our landlords definitely aren't either.
The original Polish socialists who settled here a hundred years ago were basically doing what we’re doing now: complaining about the boss, sharing what they had, and trying to survive the winter without going broke. We’re just doing it with more houseplants and better coffee.
Mutual Aid (The Important Part)
Since the system is mostly a series of three corporations in a trench coat, we’ve decided to prioritize each other. Mutual aid is foremost here. It’s not charity—it’s just not being a jerk to your neighbors.
- The Fridge: If you have extra food, put it in the community fridge. If you’re living on instant noodles until Friday, take something out. It’s not a social experiment; it’s just lunch.
- The Plants: We trade cuttings like the currency of a future that actually works. If you have a Monstera that’s getting too big for your studio, we’ll find it a home. If you killed your third Pothos, we have another one for you.
- The Cats: We officially recognize the sovereignty of the Northwest Side alley kats. We feed them, we look out for them, and we acknowledge that they are the only true anarchists left in this zip code.
Emails are, like, 30-year-old technology. We are definitely not asking for your phone number—that’s creepy. But drop your Discord if you want to see what’s up.
O Co Chodzi (Po Polsku)
Oddaj do wspólnej lodówki. Twoja roślina umiera? Pomożemy Ci ją odratować. Widzisz kota w alejce? Daj mu jeść. Nasi dziadkowie wiedzieli, że razem jest łatwiej przetrwać—my po prostu robimy to samo, tylko w nieco innym stylu.
